About Minima

minima is a range of bespoke, digitally-crafted timber light fittings and furniture.

Designed by timber architectural designer Jacques Cronje, of Timber Design, they are intricately cnc cut from fine grained Birch Plywood. Framed around the inherent structural qualities of wood, each minima product is designed to clip together using only opposing forces of tension and compression.

minima’s signature simplicity is strongly influenced by nature, and is the anti-thesis to our ever more cluttered world. Hand-finished and coated with a low VOC waterbased polyurethane sealer, minima lights are elegantly simple, yet confidently hold their own in a range of interior spaces.

“Our first collection was met incredibly well by both commercial and consumer clients and today our lights can be seen across the country hanging in Exclusive Books, Rocomamas, select Nandos, Visa’s head office and new retail malls in Port Elizabeth and Noordhoek, Cape Town,” says minima’s founder and designer, Jacques Cronje. “This support buoyed us to design a second range that expressed more movement and that could be made in any size to allow owners to display as a set in focal areas over a dining room table or kitchen island for instance or to standalone as a dramatic entrance hall feature.”
